Here is one more thing I find truly remarkable. Our government is, as you are reading this, terrorizing children. They are mauling and terrorizing women. They are beating and terrorizing men. And these are American, United States citizen, law-abiding men, women, and children.
Our government is terrorizing entire families. They are breaking down doors in homes during freeze warnings leaving families to deal with the elements. And our government has declared war on an entire city. And it is war because these are military-fatigued, military-armed, and military-mentality brigades, roaming the sidewalks and streets and neighborhoods of Minneapolis.
But here’s what I find truly, unfathomably remarkable: No one has shot back. No one has kidnapped or severely injured ICE in Minneapolis. No one has even brandished a weapon. (And don’t try any bs about Renee Good having a weapon in the form of her soccer mom SUV when her wheels were turned away from Ross, he moved his phone to his left hand to shoot her in the head before her car even moved, and her demeanor was Partridge Family friendly.)
I know of no other instance not only in the history of our country, but the history of any country, where a city was invaded and violently attacked and the demonstrators remained peaceful. Do you? If any of the hundreds of thousands of people living in Minneapolis did what the peaceful protester a/k/a “Tank Man” in Tiananmen Square did, they would be flattened to the asphalt, beaten, arrested, and almost certainly disappeared. And just like with Renee Good, if there were no video evidence, our government from Trump on down would create a fictional story about threats and violence and out of control libtard Tank Man having placed an ICE officer in fear of his life.
Which proves that our government has surpassed China, CHINA, in its unapologetic willingness to trample human rights. And what really blows my mind, or as the oracle in The Matrix said bakes my noodle, is the MAGA crowd is proudly posting that they voted for this.
In any other city, in any other time or place, violence begot violence. And it inevitably will happen because you can only push people so far before they realize no one is coming to save them and take matters into their own hands. But for every one of the more than 400,000 of Minneapolitans to have remained peaceful this long is nothing short of a miracle.
