Seismic Musings

With an administration driven by incompetence, corruption, and cruelty, any victory resulting in decency should be celebrated. I’m afraid the losses will outweigh the victories, at least until January 2027.

This past Monday the Florida Parent Teacher Association and a coalition of Florida school districts, unions and nonprofits (i.e. the good guys) sued the H8 Administration's Department of Education to force the release of funds Congress had already allocated to our kids, teachers and schools.

How badly must Trump, as well as Vance, and the entire complicit GOP caucus in Congress, truly hate America’s children, especially those in poor districts, to do this. How depraved must a person like Linda McMahon be to sign off on this for the Trump/Republican Party to do this.

Florida’s suit was joined into the other states who had already sued over this, hmm, what should we call it? Unconstitutional taking? Unlawful impoundment of state funds? How about War on Children? Might as well let American kids suffer now that we are killing off funding to keep foreign kids alive, right?

Yesterday, Trump caved. The

Department of Education has agreed to release the withheld funds. The twenty-six states that are too blinded in loyalty or too afraid to stand up for their kids should send thank you cards to the twenty-four with balls.

The states that sued were:

Alaska

California

Colorado

Delaware

Florida

Hawaii

Illinois

Kentucky

Maine

Maryland

Massachusetts

Michigan

Minnesota

Nevada

New Jersey

New Mexico

New York

North Carolina

Oregon

Pennsylvania

Rhode Island

Vermont

Washington

Wisconsin
