For anyone who hadn’t connected all of the dots, allow me.

 

(But first, take a deep breath and grab whatever keeps you calm.)

 

Under February’s Executive Order 14215, only Pam Bondi and Donald Trump decide what the law is. Only they have final say on interpreting the laws and how all laws will be enforced for every federal agency. Including every single agency specifically created by Congress to be “independent.” These include the SEC, FCC, FTC (which protects consumers and promotes fair competition in the marketplace), and National Labor Relations Board. Another independent agency, for obvious reasons, is the Office of Special Counsel which was created to investigate whistleblower complaints, protect federal employees from reprisal for whistleblowing, and enforce the restrictions of the Hatch Act on partisan political activity by government employees. (Seen any Hatch Act violations lately?)

 

And the Peace Corps, which is under attack again. (With all of the other chaos and destruction you most likely missed the “quit or either get fired or relocate” memo to all staff at DOGE’s direction just last week. Who can keep up?)

 

But let’s not deviate. Trump has ultimate authority over everything Bondi does*, so he is the law.

 

Now couple that with what Ms. Bondi and Tom Homan have said recently. If any local or state official does anything to slow down any aspect of Trump’s policies, even if the policy is blatantly unconstitutional, or even simply speaks out against Trump’s interpretation (or pronouncement) of any law, they will be arrested and prosecuted. (This will apply to voting rights-just watch.)

 

Is that really what Trump’s EO issued last week says? Incredibly, yes. At its core, the order reframes local law enforcement from being a municipal service to being a national security imperative. In doing so, it turns dissenting governors, mayors, city council, and everyone you vote for locally into potential criminals to be arrested.

 

But arrested by whom?

 

A militarized local LEO overseen by the Department of Homeland Security, meaning Trump.**

 

And prosecuted by whom?

 

Law firms who Trump blackmailed by threatening to prevent them from ever entering a federal courthouse where they have to go to DO THEIR JOB. (And, equally egregious as well as in violation of the Constitution, Trump directed every agency to end government contracts with any and all clients of the firms unless they bowed to Trump.)

 

And you and I? Steamrolled by whatever this combo dictatorship-martial law complex is on any given day. (And it will change from illegal immigrants to legal immigrants to left-wing media to the next “subhuman” group to be demonized on Fox.) In fact, we don’t have to even be part of a targeted group because if a law-enforcement officer happens to arrest or even injures or kills someone who was peacefully protesting, there will be no justice to be had. Why you ask. Because in that same Executive Order last week it provides for unlimited funds to defend any law-enforcement officer or military or para-military that injuries or kills you or someone in your family.

 

I am not making any of this up. We will never see what Hegseth and Noem reported to the President regarding invoking the Insurrection Act, despite their claims of “transparency” which are a complete joke. It matters not what they recommended to the President of our United States of America as far as implementing the Act because he has already implemented almost every aspect of it without actually naming it. Deploying military assets to “assist” police domestically. Having DHS “advance” the goals of the EO at our local levels. Targeting any local official who stands in his way. Welcome to the Orwellian nightmare we never thought possible in America.

 

These people are shredding the Constitution openly and defiantly. If Jefferson or Samuel Adams were around right now they just might encourage our citizenry to get back to dumping tea in the harbors and violently defending our Constitution.

 

Seismic Resistance does not advocate for violence. But if we continue down this increasingly slippery and dangerous slope, you and I might have to decide how best to defend our country from tyranny.

 

*Just a reminder: in her opening statement to Congress to get confirmed, Ms. Bondi said, and I quote, “Under my watch, the partisan weaponization of the Department of Justice will end. America must have one tier of justice for all.” Rich, right.
